07/05/09 - "Here is the only picture that I have of Melville and is what lead me to your website looking for more. It was taken in 1971 just before the base was turned over to Canada. It was taken by (now Retired) M/Sgt Billy E. Mims when he was stationed there. Thanks you for all the other wonderful pictures of the base." - Billie Renee (Mims) Accurso
*UPDATE! 04/19/10 - "I question whether this aerial photo is really of 641st
Melville. I suspect it is really Saglek There were no abrupt cliffs as
pictured here at Melville and the arraignment of the barracks is wrong. I was
stationed at 641st from Sept 64 to Sept 65 as a weapons
controller." - Dave Clark
Wow! Good call Dave! Renee has checked with her father, retired MSgt Bill E. Mims who took the photo. It really IS Saglek, not Melville. Thank you for noticing the error Dave, and thank you Renee...the photo is still incredible!
